Step back in time to the days of Leon Godchaux, who founded Godchaux’s department store and developed a fortune as the owner of 14 plantations, becoming the largest sugar producer in the region. Helping us learn about this legendary New Orleanian will be our guest speaker Peter M. Wolf, the great-great-grandson of Leon Godchaux, In 2022, Wolf wrote the best-selling book, “The Sugar King: Leon Godchaux, A New Orleans Legend, His Creole Slave, and His Jewish Roots.”
