Sharing German Heritage

Join The GACC Today

Joining the GACC allows you to take part in special events that are held just for members. We are a non-profit organization and rely on members to help support our museum and our community activities and festivals. Volunteers are also welcome to join in making our next event a great success.

Join the GACC and you’ll enjoy the gemütlichkeit that is the hallmark of our organization – that is, warm cordiality, comfortable friendliness and congeniality. By joining, you also support the continued success of the GACC Museum.

Celebrations are a German tradition, and we keep that legacy alive by holding outdoor German Beer Gardens several times a year. Our members and others in the community help us with these events that are enjoyed by citizens from around New Orleans.

Join The GACC Family

The GACC membership fee is $25 per person. Our members are invited to join with their friends at our monthly cultural programs, where everyone can enjoy German beer, fresh baked pretzels, and speakers on topics related to German history, culture and genealogy. Frequently, they are treated to mini concerts of German music by our favorite accordion player. They also receive our monthly newsletter.

Volunteer Today

Helping GACC & More

Volunteering for one of the GACC festivals could mean helping to set up the beer garden, preparing food, serving food and drinks and working as a cashier. In addition to festivals, volunteers can assist at other times with museum exhibits, photo archiving, mailing projects and more.

Our organization also supports the City of Gretna and the broader community by donating to worthy projects such as the annual Gretna Prayer Dinner, restoration work at Salem Lutheran Church and programming at Deutsches Haus.
