A Fasching celebration (the German Mardi Gras) needs a king and queen, so Dixie Olsen and Dirk Hepting served as royalty for our party.

Now that the historic snowfall is behind us, it’s time to celebrate Fasching at our February meeting.

Starting with the Gretna Christmas Parade on December 1, to the annual Christmas Party on December 14, this month was busy for the GACC.

A men’s choir from Germany visited our museum and then gave a wonderful concert at Gretna’s St. Joseph Church.

October is German Heritage Month and the GACC celebrated with beer gardens — Gretna Fest and Oktoberfest.

October is festival month! The GACC will host beer gardens at Gretna Fest, Oct. 4-6, and our own Oktoberfest on Oct. 19.

Family history was a theme during August, with a talk at the Jefferson Parish Library and a library archivist speaking at the GACC meeting.
