Pretzels, brats, beer and two German bands — that’s ahead October 17 at the GACC for the annual Oktoberfest Beer Garden.

Members and guests filled every seat to hear a presentation about Gretna WW2 hero Anthony Mickles.

In World War II the USS New Orleans cruiser earned 17 battle stars. GACC members learned its history from Cory Graff of the World War II Museum.

The GACC celebrated Ira Milan, age 103, whose German band has entertained New Orleanians for more than 60 years.
