Derby Gisclair will talk about his book, New Orleans Steamboat Stories – The Brief Lives of Mississippi Riverboats. The book brings stories of a handful of the different steamboats and the people who lived and worked on the Western rivers.

We have important news — our monthly meetings are moving to Salem Lutheran Church (at the corner of Fourth and Amelia Streets) in Gretna. This change is the result of the renovation work going on at the 519 Huey P. Long Avenue building that houses our museum.

We think you will enjoy the new location in Salem’s Schmid Hall. After all, Salem was founded by German immigrants! Many thanks go out to Salem for hosting us.
