GACC-Ladies Enjoy Pretzels

The Friends of the GACC are now meeting monthly at Salem Lutheran Church, due to renovations at our usual location. But our pretzels continue!

Get Your GACC Calendar to Welcome the New Year!

For four years in a row, the GACC has produced a calendar with historic images of Gretna from our large photography archive. With photos of early cotton oil industries, railroad workers, turn-of-the-century retail businesses in the old downtown and mom and pop corner stores, these calendars capture life in long-ago Gretna.

The NEW German-American Cultural Center 2024 calendar is here. This 13-month calendar has color images from our historic collection, and the front and back covers display great pictures of the “Sacred Spaces And Places Of Honor In A German Community”.

Visit Our Museum

Step inside the GACC Museum and go back in time to 1721, when German immigrants first settled in Louisiana. You’ll learn about the waves of German pioneers that followed them to establish homes, farms and businesses across the river from New Orleans. Entry is free of charge to our museum, open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.
