March 2022 Newsletter

It’s time to visit our museum and see the new display by genealogist Pat Smith celebrating the 300th anniversary of Germans coming to Louisiana.

Get Your GACC Calendar to Welcome the New Year!

For three years in a row, the GACC has produced a calendar with historic images of Gretna from our large photography archive. With photos of early cotton oil industries, railroad workers, turn-of-the-century retail businesses in the old downtown and mom and pop corner stores, these calendars capture life in long-ago Gretna.

The 2022 calendar is special because it is the first one to use full color, thanks to the work of assistant director Ira Hopkins, who curated the photos. It has 13 months of photos and calendar pages.
