GACC March Dinner
GACC members meet for a program and dinner at 6 p.m.
RESCHEDUALED – March 22, 2025
Members’ meeting, 6 p.m., Salem Lutheran Church.
Friends, Because of the threat of severe weather tomorrow (March 15), we have canceled the meeting. We have rescheduled it for next week, Saturday, March 22, at 6 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church. Our scheduled speaker, Emily Ford, is unable to attend the March 22 meeting, but we will bring her back to speak later this year. So, our presentation next week will be on the history of beer breweries in New Orleans, by Carol and Ira. We hope to see you there.
This meeting will have a guest speaker Emily Ford, on cemetery preservationist.
Emily Ford is a cemetery preservationist, monumental mason, and writer of New Orleans cemetery history. She will speak on “Caring for your Family Tomb.”
We have important news — our monthly meetings are moving to Salem Lutheran Church (at the corner of Fourth and Amelia Streets) in Gretna. This change is the result of the renovation work going on at the 519 Huey P. Long Avenue building that houses our museum.
We think you will enjoy the new location in Salem’s Schmid Hall. After all, Salem was founded by German immigrants! Many thanks go out to Salem for hosting us.
